Please Note:  May 4, 2019.   Mattawa Island Conservation Area is closed until further notice due to flooding.

Mattawa Island is located in the historic setting of the town of Mattawa. Nestled near the mouth of the Mattawa River and accessible by road, the island features a variety of family-friendly activities. The island provides a beach, picnic facilities, a swimming area, volleyball and tennis courts and is the finish line for NBMCA's annual Mattawa River Canoe Race (64 and 13 km races for marathon paddlers, families and youth).

There is a walking path from the parking lot to the north tip of the island, but proceed with caution - poison ivy!

No trails.
