Kate Pace Way Bridge Over La Vase River July 2020

(North Bay, September 16, 2020)  The Kate Pace Way bridge over the La Vase River is getting a facelift over the next few weeks as the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority replaces the timber bridge deck and surrounding fence.

The Kate Pace Way will be closed between Lakeshore Dr. and Decaire Rd during construction.  This project is scheduled to be completed by September 25.  A detour will be marked along Lakeshore, Riverbend Rd and Decaire Rd.

This project was funded in part by a grant from Trans Canada Trail to enhance this section of The Great Trail.  The South Shore Restoule Snowmobile Club has also provided financial support for the work as this portion of the trail is used by the Ontario Snowmobile Trail Club.

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority was founded in 1972 by the Province of Ontario and its 10 member municipalities. A non-profit organization, the NBMCA works closely with the public to balance human needs with environmental needs throughout the region’s watershed. The NBMCA is one of 36 Conservation Authorities who are members of Conservation Ontario.
